Ap4ProjectManagers.com will be performing a scheduled maintenance today, March 15, 2012 between 22:00 and 24:00 GMT Western European Time (WET). We will be proceeding with a database update and software updates on our servers. The service may be unavailable for 3-4 hours in order to make sure everything runs safely. We apologize for the inconvenience these hours of downtime may bring.

Accessing AP4's main features is now much easier. We moved every module's main action button into a dropdown navigation style, making them always available.

More room to visualize your project information – More space, easier to work and read!
A cleaner look and feel welcomes you in your project workspaces.

• We have organized and combined all task related modules into one working area. Your Gantt Chart, To-do List, and Calendar are now grouped together, helping you to easily move from your to-do list that help carry out the project plan to your Gantt Chart. 

• We have grouped all action buttons into dropdowns called Actions, giving you now more room for an easier navigation and more space to read your project information.

Update - Signup, Login & Invite Changes

We have an important overhaul ready to be implemented in Ap4 Project Managers on the 12^th of December at 19:00 GMT. (Our servers will be down for 5 minutes.)

What is happening?

We are substituting the use of usernames in our login page for email addresses.

The next time you login to Ap4 Project Managers simply now use your email address you signed-up with. The password maintains the same.

Why are we doing this change?

We are making the signup and invitation process simple.

Ap4 Project Managers now works as our construction community does, you can add any of your project partner companies or collaborators, and apart from using the software for free with the projects you shared with them, they will also be able to work on the same application on other projects of their own. Or, you yourself may be invited to another company´s project.

We can now support this with the use of a common denominator, your email address.

Users will be able to access and manage their own projects and projects they were invited to with just one Ap4 account.

We believe that this will allow Ap4 Project Managers to establish a market standard for construction project communication.

And… to help you further share your project we have just added unlimited user usage  to your free plan account!

Also check your new user invite button. It makes sharing your project much easier. Start inviting!

Any additional necessary steps?

None, unless you have the Ap4 Mobile Android app and / or our Ap4 Outlook pluggin installed, it will be necessary to update to the available new version found in the Android Markeplace (found here) and reinstall the new Ap4 Outlook pluggin version found inside your Ap4 User Profile page.

What else is new?

Meanwhile we also improved our Timesheet and Gantt task functionalities in our Gantt Module.

• You can now easily log in your project resource hours and manage your resource costs.

•  You now also have the option to select the start and end date of a new gantt task or simply insert the number of days when entering a new gantt task.

Seminar at ISEP – New Collaboration Models and Software in the AEC Industry

On the 19th of October the Engineering University of ISEP held a seminar to present Ap4 Project Managers to their civil engineering students and staff.

It was a very interesting event where we discussed the present software and comunication models made available to the AEC sector and the enormous competitive advantages in the adoption of new collaboration models brought forth by modern web  and mobile platforms.

The successful completion of construction projects demands immense multidisciplinary comunication and collaboration at various levels amongst the envolved project companies and project teams, whom sometimes find themselves spread out geographically.

Therefore, the adoption of these new technologies by the companies within the construction industry is of the utmost importance for these same companies to raise their levels of productivity and efficiency.

Why hasn´t the construction industry not yet benefited with software tools to match the ease of use in communicating that we verify today when sharing comments, photos and events with our friends in Facebook, or the ease with which tools like Dropbox give us when we need to share files with coworkers and friends?

How should we manage the immeasurable amount of emails we exchange daily with our project teams?
